Happy Canada Day!
The 2023 Canadian Music Discovery is Jordyn Sugar. She is a 19-year-old singer from Toronto, Ontario. I recently saw her at an outdoor concert celebrating the day for a Montreal suburb called Kirkland Day. She was the opening act for the Montreal artist Brittany Kennell. She sang covers of various songs and some new material. Her opening act was impressive and dynamic. She talked about how her music career came out. She spoke from the heart. I met and spoke with her – she was so lovely and cheerful.
She has an impressive start to her career. She got discovered by many artists/groups, including the Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber. She has a fantastic voice. She sings with a bold vocal style. Her first single was Leaves Me. I listened to her songs, and they are expressive. Her recent hit, Good in My Shoes, is an inspirational and positive song about being true to yourself and comfortable in your skin. She hosted the second season of a show called Fashion Hero Kids– a series also hosted by Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean. Jordyn Sugar has impressive singles out. She sings each song with heart and soul.
