Flashback Fridays: 30th Anniversary of “Never Gonna Give You Up”

Wow! Todays marks the 30th anniversary of a hit from the 80s Never Gonna Give Up by Rick Astley. Although I wasn’t born then, I love music from that decade. This song is so fun to listen to. It’s got a fun beat. The video is fun to watch.

Rick Astley also has another hit Together Forever, Angel on My Side.

Flashback Fridays: Tribute to Chester Bennington-Lead Singer of Linkin Park

Thursday, July 20, 2017 we lost Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington. I was saddened to hear of his passing, especially since the band just released an album last May. He was an incredible artist.  I admit I don’t know many songs of theirs. I familiar with their early works from the 2000s. They contributed to the music world, especially the Alternative genre.   linkin_park_2017_logo

My favourite songs were: In The End and Crawling. I felt the raw emotion in these songs. The emotion is even significant with Bennington’s passing.  He will be missed in the music industry. It won’t be the same without him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his friends and his fans.

Rest in peace Chester Bennington. 😥

Canada 150 celebrations on Parliament Hill

It was a joy to watch the celebrations for Canada 150. I loved the speeches today, including that of our Prime Minister. 🙂

My focus is the music, however. The performances of Native music were incredible. Marie-Mai was also amazing. It was nice to see her perform. The song Différent celebrates diversity. I didn’t expect it. Seeing Shania Twain was another epic surprise.

I hope you all a pleasant Canada 150 celebrations.

Happy Canada Day 150!
