Editorial: 65th Grammy Awards

February 5, 2023, the 65th Grammy Awards took place, hosted by Trevor Noah. He did an excellent job hosting music’s biggest event. The performances were incredible – the artists gave it their all. Congratulations to all the winners of last night’s Grammys.

Performances

-Opening Act
Bad Bunny – El Apagón Después la Playa
The music was catchy, with incredible dancing.
A great way to start the evening.

-Brandi Carlisle – Broken Horses
She gave a touching performance.
Side Note: She received a lovely introduction from her family.

-Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson & Chris Stapleton
The Temptations’ The Way You Do the Things You Do and then Smokey Robinson joins Steve Wonder performing The Miracles’ The Tears Of A Clown.
After that, Chris Stapleton joins them with a performance of Higher Ground
It was a touching tribute to Motown music, a fantastic combination of RNB & Country.

-Lizzo – About Damn Time
It was an epic & passionate performance.

-Harry Styles – As It Was
A fantastic performance with a lovely David Bowie/Freddie Mercury vibe with a 70s style. 

-In Memoriam 
*Kacey Musgraves performs Coal Miner’s Daughter – a tribute to Loretta Lynn. 
*Quavo with Maverick City Music Without You – an homage to Migos rapper Takeoff.
*Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Rail & Mick Fleetwood perform Fleetwood Mac’s Without You – a tribute to Christine McVie
This segment was a touching and heartwarming moment.

-Mary J. Blige – Good Morning Gorgeous
She gave an uplifting and heartwarming performance. 

-50th Anniversary of Hip Hop
An Impressive Medley Performance of Rap/Hip Hop artists from the 1970s until now, including LL Cool J, Nelly, Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, etc.

A heartwarming performance

-Steve Lacy – Bad Habit
It was a phenomenal performance

-DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, JAY-Z, Fridayy & John Legend – God Did
It was an epic ending to a fantastic event.

US First Lady Jill Biden was the presenter for Best Song for Social Change & Song of the Year. A touching standing ovation took place.

Side Note: Harry Styles hugs the fan who read the winner for Best Album of The Year. Trevor Noah showed the card inside the envelope to the Harry Styles fan, a sweet lady. 

Trevor Noah did a remarkable job hosting music’s biggest night. The performances were impressive and dynamic.
