Mélissa Bédard’s Homage Album Aime-Toi Comme Ça

Canadian and Québecoise Mélissa Bédard released a new album entitled Aime-Toi Comme Ça (Love Yourself As You Are). The themes are self-acceptance and homage to French Classics.

The music is French Pop. The album has an impressive mix of musicals: Classic French music and contemporary sounds – a new spin on French classics. The homage to these famous French songs gives the record a nostalgic feeling. The musicians did an excellent job honouring the French classics from various decades. There are beautiful ballads, such as Marie-Jo and Il me dit que je suis belle, rich in rhythm and intonations. The original songs Aime-toi comme ça and À jamais…Adieu parallel the music of old-fashioned French music combined with contemporary French Pop sounds. The compositions are dynamic in musical styles. The music is touching and heartfelt.

Mélissa Bédard’s voice is bold and rich. She sings with heart and passion. She sings her two original songs remarkably and honours the French classics. There’s a fantastic song, the cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water – a duet with Angelo Del Vecchio. Their voices complement each other nicely. The performances of these covers of French classics are remarkable.

There are two original songs: Aime-toi comme ça and À jamais…Adieu.

Aime-toi comme ça  (Love Yourself As You Are) is an empowering song that encourages people to practice self-love and self-acceptance- a message to love oneself. The song À jamais…Adieu (Goodbye for good) is an emotional song about saying bye to a person dying, particularly someone choosing to die due to an illness. It’s profound and beautifully genuine. These original pieces are poetic and touching. The words are full of heart and soul.

The album  Aime-toi comme ça is available.
