Day 6 Single Saturdays: Dolly Valentine – Holidays, I’m Far Away

American singer Dolly Valentine a Christmas single entitled Holidays, I’m Far Away. The song is about a woman spending the holidays alone while thinking about her loved ones.

The music is folk. The song has a 70s vibe parallel to the Beatles, The Mamas & The Papas and ABBA (i.e. Happy New Year and their recent single Little Things). The musicians play incredibly: Andrew Valenti (guitar), Kino Murako (horns), and Dune Butler (bass). The composition is rhythmic and sounds nostalgic – the sadness of missing loved ones during this time of year. Dolly Valentine composed the music of the song beautifully.

Dolly Valentine’s voice is beautiful and soft. She sings with a deep sound in a rhythmic manner. She has a bold vocal style – rich and smooth.

Dolly Valentine and Andrew Valenti wrote the song. The lyrics are touching and relatable – not being with loved ones during the holiday season. However, the tune has a positive spin on those challenging times, such as lighting a candle and making the most of it. The words are soulful and from the heart. The lyrics

have incredible freestyle poetry and are well-written.

The single Holidays, I’m Far Away, is available.
