Single Saturdays: Kelly Clarkson & Brett Eldredge – Under The Mistletoe

American singer Kelly Clarkson and Brett Eldredge have a new Christmas single entitled Under The Mistletoe. It’s a romantic song about missing the significant other.

The music is Pop with a Holiday twist. The beat is catchy with an upbeat sound that inspires one to get up and dance. It’s a tune that’s great for holiday parties (when it’s not during a pandemic). Aben Eubanks and Jesse Shatkin produced the song. The instruments in this tune are remarkable and compliment each other:  Erick Serna (the Ukulele), Jeffery Miller (trombone), Katty Rodriguez (Baritone Saxophone), Keyon Harrold (Brass Arrangement, Trumpet), Marcus Strickland (Tenor Saxophone). Serban Ghenea, the mixer, did a fantastic job with the structure of the song. Jesse Shatkin also took care of the bass, keyboards, Engineering, and additional drum programming. My compliments to the masterer Chris Gehringer, the engineer John Hanes, the additional engineer Sam Dent and the assistant engineer Sam Wahl. The team in charge of this song collaborated magnificently in coming up with this superb composition.

Kelly Clarkson and Brett Eldredge sing together and their respective parts in this duet beautifully. Their voices compliment each other nicely. They sound bold and sentimental.

The lyrics are romantic and cute. Kelly Clarkson and Aben Eubanks wrote the song with incredible freestyle writing and detail. The mistletoe is a classic Christmas symbol associated with romance, works well with this story. The mixed emotions of excitement and nerves from kissing under the mistletoe are relatable. The love sounds genuine between the couple. The sentences “All I want, hey” and “all I really, really ever want” emphasize life’s priorities in the relationship. The words are cute and sweet, capturing the romantic mood of the song nicely.

The single Under The Mistletoe is available.
