American singer Chris Mann has released a new parody entitled My Game Sucks and I Know It, featuring former Tennis Player Pam Shriver. The song references a famous hit from LMFAO called I’m Sexy and I Know It. It tells the story of a guy taking tennis lessons with Pam Shriver, without any success.
The music is Pop mixed with R&B. The composition of the parody My Game Sucks and I Know It follows the original version from LMFAO. The beat is catchy and brings a feeling of nostalgia. It is rhythmic and makes you want to get up and dance. At the beginning of the song it starts with a beat that many can recognize. Impressive!
Chris Mann’s voice is fantastic and versatile. He adapts to the original song’s rhythm for his parodies and follows the same vocal style. He is funny. Pam Shriver also provides a nice comic touch to the tune.
The lyrics are straightforward and full of humour. The song also follows the same lyrical structure as the original version by LMFAO. There are clever references to Tennis and famous Tennis players such as Maria Sharapova, Venus and Serena Williams, and Roger Federer – a lovely homage to the sport. The feeling of discouragement when one’s out of practice in any sport or activity is understandable, especially with quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic, as demonstrated with comic relief. The repetition of Volley, Rally, Forehand, and Backhand then saying “Out” follows the same pace as the “Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle Yeah” from LMFAO’s I’m Sexy and I Know It. The words are well-written.
The single My Game Sucks and I Know It is available.
