Canadian and Québecois singer Ludovick Bourgeois released his second album 2. The overall themes are love, heartbreak, and personal stories.
The music is French Pop (also known as Musique Francophone). The presence of the guitar complements the songs nicely. The rhythm is beautiful and smooth within a fantastic composition. The music parallels the works of Les BB, including the late Patrick Bourgeois, Ludovick Bourgeois’s father, while still having a contemporary sound. It’s an exciting mix of Pop and Rock.
Ludovick Bourgeois’s voice is expressive, vibrant and incredible. He has his distinct style of singing, with some parallels to his late father. He sings in a higher register, however. When Ludovick Bourgeois performs songs with a slower beat, he whispers magnificently. He captures the specific emotions well.
The lyrics have a fantastic depth to them with a style of story-telling. Each song reflects something personal for Ludovick Bourgeois, as is the case with Le Saut De L’ange (The angel’s jump)-the words are well-written, full of poetry. The tunes have incredible metaphors in them with a romantic feel to them. He pays tribute to his father in a magnificent fashion.
My favourite songs are Bonsoir Solitude (Good Evening Solitude), Que Sera Ma Vie (What Will My Life Be Like), Je Le Ferai (I Will Do It -featuring Marc Dupé), and Un Autre Moi (Another Me).
The album 2 is now available.
