American Pop Artist Idina Menzel has released a new Christmas album entitled Christmas A Season of Love with music for Christmas and Hanukkah. There are the covers of holiday classics as well as a few original songs.
The music is Pop with a Holiday sound. The classic Christmas hits sound similar to the classic hits but with a slightly different musical composition. There are original and new songs that have a modern with a hint of Jazz. The piano in the background gives the album a lovely touch to it.
Idina Menzel’s voice is full of depth and soul. She has a lovely mother-son moment singing a duet with her son Walker in the song Walker’s Third Hanukkah. She has a fantastic duet with her husband Aaron Lohr performing a romantic holiday classic I’ll Be Home For Christmas. Idina Menzel also sings with Billy Porter (I Got My Love To Keep Me Warm), Josh Gad (We Wish You The Merriest), and Ariana Grande (A Hand For Mrs. Claus)- all three duets were incredible. She expresses the joys of both Christmas and Hanukkah
The lyrics of the original songs A Hand for Mrs. Claus, Walker’s 3rd Hanukkah, and At This Table are inspirational and reflect today’s take on the Holiday season. A Hand for Mrs. Claus is about the challenges Mrs. Claus faces during this time cleverly and humorously. Walker’s 3rd Hanukkah is a spoken-word that is genuine and from the heart. At This Table is an inclusive tune about celebrating Christmas or any holiday with friendship and diversity. The contemporary aspect of these songs adds a new musical Holiday flavour to the album.
