Soundtrack Saturdays: Toy Story 4

This week the movie Toy Story 4 came out in theatres. It is another Summer movie that is getting attention. It reminds me of my childhood when I saw the first one in 1995 (Yes, I’m dating myself, I know). The soundtrack for the film has a few songs – one of which is performed by Chris Stapleton.

There is some material from the previous Toy Story movies, as well as some new ones. They complement the characters’ adventures throughout the story. There’s one for Bo Peep for example when she’s helping her friends. There’s one for Caboom (voiced by Keanu Reeves) that was interesting.

The songs are fantastic. There’s the classic You’ve Got a Friend in Me by Randy Newman that is memorable. The latest one is Chris Stapleton’s The Ballad of The Lonesome Cowboy. It tells the story of a Cowboy whose life turns around for the better, as it is the case for Woody. Randy Newman also sings this song. He also performed I Can’t Let You Throw Your Life Away. It’s an optimistic song about friendship and supporting those we love. The music in this soundtrack reflects the movie perfectly.

The soundtrack for Toy Story 4 is available. Enjoy!
