The music is a mix of pop and techno, which reminds me of what I used in the 2000s. The sound of the slow then fast beats parallels to the Winter harshness. The switch from slow to fast, and vice-versa is smooth. The composition by Alex Tirheimer, Jimmy Burney and Daniel Kyriakides is impressive. They also did an excellent job with the lyrics of this incredible song.

Olivier Dion’s voice is soft, almost like a whisper. There’s a sense of disappointment and vulnerability, which is noticeable in the tone of his sound.

The lyrics refer to Cold Winter as a metaphor for the difficult days following a breakup. The story describes the comparison of the two relationships: the ex he still loves and the current woman (possibly a superficial relationship). In this context, it’s clear where his feelings stand. The harshness of the Winter season represents a feeling of emptiness. The repetition of the word Cold is to emphasize the gravity of the heartache the man feels when he realizes he misses his ex. The words are well-written and capture the emotion of sorrow, something to which one can relate.
