Day 2:  Star Académie – Star Académie Noël 2025

Star Académie 2025 released a new Christmas album, Star Académie Noël 2025. It consists of the 14 candidates performing French versions of Christmas classics.

The music is French Pop with a Holiday twist. The album has impressive compositions. It’s a lovely blend of original classics and contemporary sounds and rhythms. There’s a beautiful twist to the songs that honour French Pop and Jazz-style beats (i.e. Je t’offre mon Cœur- the French version of Wham’s Last Christmas). It starts with an upbeat song and ends with a heartfelt ballad, a French Christmas song that’s a classic in Quebec. The album has nice music to listen to at any holiday gathering, whether a family dinner or a big party (office party or at home), it’s a lovely choice!

When I listen to this record, I imagine a concert where people attend with holiday cheer. The music is rich in Christmas joy and hope.

The 14 candidates of Star Académie 2025 did a remarkable job performing French versions of English Christmas classics. They also sing their own renditions of French Christmas songs. It was also impressive to hear the French versions of Elvis Presley’s Blue Christmas (Triste à Noël) and Wham’s 1984 hit Last Christmas (Je t’offre mon Cœur). Each one sang a tune with their own spin. It’s hard to pick a favourite. I will say this, however, each artist honours the holiday classics. The range of vocal styles is fantastic, from those with a low, husky voice to others boldly hitting those high notes.

However, I have a few examples below to give an idea of its lovely holiday cheer.
