Single Saturdays: Giorgia Fumanti – Who Wants to Live Forever

Italian soprano Giorgia Fumanti released her rendition of Queen’s Who Wants to Live Forever. She did an incredible job honouring a classic from the British Rock band while putting her spin on it.

The music is Opera. The song features a phenomenal orchestra complementing its remarkable composition. In Giorgia Fumanti’s version of “Who Wants to Live Forever,” it starts slowly with violins and cellos, then suddenly transitions into a drum-style sound. The violin in the background creates a rhythmic ambience. It has a mysterious vibe, which gives chills. Also, there’s a consistent rhythm, combined with bold tempo changes. An impressive moment comes after Giorgia Fumanti sings the chorus for the first time; then the music picks up with passionate energy. This rendition draws inspiration from the original song, but with an operatic twist. There’s a lovely symphonic vibe in contrast to Queen’s version, which is more choir-like. Stefano Galante did an excellent job producing this interpretation. The music on this rendition has beautiful finesse, featuring a melody that’s in sync with Giorgia Fumanti’s phenomenal, operatic singing.

Giorgia Fumanti’s operatic voice is bold, and she sings with great passion. She beautifully honours Queen’s original version while adding her own spin to the classic hit. It’s impressive that she slightly modified the ending. In the original song, it ends with a question, “Who waits forever, anyway?” in contrast to Giorgia Fumanti’s softer fade-out after singing the chorus a couple of times. She has a phenomenal vocal range, going from smooth in the verses to hitting the high notes with great precision. Giorgia Fumanti did great work with this rendition of Who Wants to Live Forever, with a powerful voice that beautifully honours the piece. She pours her heart and soul into performing this legendary song by Queen.
