First EP Fridays: Intergalactic Mechanic – Who’s Watching

UK group Intergalactic Mechanic has released a new EP, Who’s Watching. It’s primarily music with some singing. The music reminds me of the dance music of the 1990s and 2000s.

A New Age is an excellent introduction to the EP. There are some fantastic drum-style beats. It parallels the song “It Feels So Good” from Sonique, but with a faster, bolder sound. The tune creates incredible suspense and anticipation of what’s to come. The composition is well-thought-out.

Expose The Rot has an exciting intensity in its rhythm, creating a video game vibe, especially those found in some arcades. Another one that creates suspense in wondering if the character will succeed in their quest in the game, which is what this music reminds me of.

How Will It All End has a dynamic composition, consisting of unique sounds that remind me of percussion music. It parallels Queen’s early 1980s single, Another One Bites the Dust, at the beginning. It also reminds me of the Britney Spears single, Toxic. It’s another song with music similar to that in a video game (old-fashioned ones). The gradient rhythm is incredible.

The Shadow is a remarkable piece that combines electronic sounds with Jazz-style beats. Some parts remind me of Michael Jackson’s single Billie Jean, but with a twist of Electronic Music. It concludes the EP with a song that perfectly wraps up the album. There’s a science-fiction vibe to it.

This EP boasts a fresh sound, ideal for the summer season, with that bold dance beat.

The Who’s Watching is available.
