Soundtrack Saturdays: Snow White 2025

The live-action movie Snow White is out in theatres since March 21, 2025. The soundtrack is impressive. I vaguely remember hearing some songs from the other versions, including the original one from 1937.

The soundtrack features renditions of a few original songs from the 1937 movie, and new material complements the movie even further. The music has contemporary sounds, making this record remarkable. The compositions have more musical depth and intricacy.

The piece Good Things Grows starts and ends the soundtrack with upbeat music. It continues with tunes such as Heigh-Ho and Whistle While You Work.

The tune Princess Problems is a fantastic semi-fast piece that suitably reflects the romantic tension between Snow White and Jonathan.

The record also includes ballads. Waiting on a Wish has a stunning piano and harp playing in the background. The music is rhythmic. All Is Fair has an incredible, eerie melody that perfectly reflects The Evil Queen’s villainous character both times on the record. The most beautiful ballad is A Hand Meets a Hand, with a great, wavy, joyfully romantic rhythm.

The music is phenomenal. The soundtrack then ends with reprises (All is Fair, Waiting on a Wish, and Good Things Grow) and Snow White Returns to beautifully wrap things up.

The soundtrack features new songs with great lyrical depth. The new tracks complement the fairytale, and the words give the vibe that Snow White is more assertive than the old version. The songs reminded me of the Live-Action version of Aladdin, when the soundtrack had an empowering song for Jasmine, making the female characters empowered and confident—no more damsel in distress clichés. The song Waiting on a Wish is a profound piece about a girl growing into a young woman. The second to last piece, Snow White Returns, is a lovely, heroic denouement.

The album starts and ends with an inspirational tune, Good Things Grow (including two reprises).

The most romantic piece is A Hand Meets a Hand (Rachel Zegler & Andrew Burnap). It’s heartwarming and poetic, beautifully describing a blooming love.

This soundtrack also has humour, like the songs Princess Problems (Rachel Zegler & Andrew Burnap) and The Silly Song (The actors who voice the Dwarfs*). These pieces add a musical flavour to the record.

Even the song for the villain (All Is Fair), The Evil Queen, has depth,

expressing her profound emotions of jealousy and anger.

These new songs are well-written with incredible depth, creating a new dynamic for the classic fairytale.

The actors perform remarkably throughout the soundtrack, singing their songs with heart and soul.

The first song, Good Things Grow, has a catchy sound that conveys upbeat energy – all three times (the first one, the villagers reprise and the finale)

Rachel Zegler’s voice is soft and rhythmic. She has two solo performances, Waiting on a Wish and Snow White Returns, and passionately performs each tune.

In this version, The Seven Dwarfs (Jeremy Swift, George Salazar, Jason Kravits, Tituss Burgess, Martin Klebba & Andy Grotelueschen) are so much fun, especially with this new rendition of Heigh-Ho – a dynamic version.

Another fun song is the performance of Whistle While You Work –

It is impressive to hear Rachel Zegler, Jeremy Swift, George Salazar, Jason Kravits, Tituss Burgess, Martin Klebba, and Andy Grotelueschen sing harmoniously, and their performances are fantastic.
Gal Gadot’s performance is bold, and has a fantastic, raspy voice. Her rendition of All Is Fair is also remarkable, and she sings passionately both times. She conveys the Evil Queen vibe.
Rachel Zegler and Andrew Burnap have two unforgettable duets: Princess Problems and A Hand Me ts A Hand. Their vocal chemistry is remarkable. The song Princess Problems is a humorous interaction between Snow White and Jonathan. A Hand Meets A Hand is a sweet, romantic piece that perfectly complements the blooming love story. Their voices complement each other nicely.

The soundtrack is full of impressive performances by the cast (either individually or all together).

The Snow White soundtrack is available.
