The Musical Discovery of 2024 is French artist Slimane. I first heard Slimane after watching a French program, and the channel France 2 played the video of his single Je T’aime (I Love You). His music is remarkable. The top two songs of his I Love So Much are Je T’aime and Des Milliers De Je T’aime (hundreds of “I love yous”). The piece Des Milliers De Je T’aime is heartwarming and profound as it’s a song dedicated to his daughter.
In 2024, Slimane was a candidate for the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Je T’aime.” Another impressive moment for Slimane was his daytime performances in Paris at the Notre Dame Cathedral before the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics, including one with Belgian singer Lara Fabian. These are examples of how Slimane put on an incredible performance.
He has been in the music scene since 2016. Having heard many of his songs recently, I’m impressed, from his early works to his more recent hit, Mon Amour. Slimane has a musical charisma. He has evolved as an artist, including experimenting with different sounds. His musical style is phenomenal. In some of his songs, he blends French pop with Arabic-style music. Slimane has impressive duets with various artists, including Vitaa and Jenifer. He adapts to the musical styles of others and creates works of art. He’s an incredible singer, songwriter and composer.
Slimane’s voice is bold. He sings his songs with great passion. He has a phenomenal vocal range, going from low and soft to hitting the high notes.
