Day 11: Thomas Rhett – Merry Christmas, Y’all

American singer Thomas Rhett has a new Christmas EP, Merry Christmas, Y’all. It consists of renditions of four Christmas classics. 

The music is Country and Holiday. The Country music touch on classics is an excellent detail. The compositions are incredible. The band, a group of impressive musicians playing guitar, saxophone, etc.) conveys the Christmas spirit through their music. Winter Wonderland follows the rhythm of the original classic and a modern Country touchThe piece It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year has incredible music, including the drums that give it a dynamic take on the holiday classic. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is a beautiful Country ballad that feels cozy and intimate. The saxophone in the background- gives it a lovely Jazzy touch. The piece It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas has an old-fashioned upbeat rhythm that parallels Country music from the 60s/70s. The Country spin of these four Christmas songs is fantastic and adds charm.

Thomas Rhett’s voice is cheerful and hopeful. There’s pure joy in his voice, a family vibe. He mentions his home state of Tennessee in the rendition of It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, giving it a personal touch. Thomas Rhett’s deep voice feels calming in the piece Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. He sounds enthusiastic when singing The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year and Winter Wonderland. He sings these Christmas classics from the heart.
