April 4, 2022, the 64th Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, took place. Congratulations to the winners of last night’s events. Good job to Trevor Noah for hosting. 

Performances

-Silk Sonic Leave The Door Open

The duo’s performance was the opening act of the 64th Grammy Awards. They were bold and dynamic. There’s a 70s vibe that parallels the late James Brown.

-Olivia Rodrigo Driver’s License
Her performance was impressive and vibrant.

-J Balvin With María Becerra Qué Más Pues
The performance had incredible music with outstanding choreography.

-BTS Butter
The performance was impressively theatrical- it felt like a sketch.
The group had epic dance moves and costume changes.

-Aymée Nuviola performed a lovely tune leading into a commercial break and again after that.

-Billie Eilish & Finneas Happier Than Ever
They were amazing. Billie Eilish sang with passion while her brother Finneas played the guitar. There was a fantastic Rock edge that gave a bold touch.

-Brandi Carlile Right On Time
She gave a touching performance. She played her piano beautifully.

-Nas gave an incredible performance – a medley of hits

-Chris Stapleton Cold
His performance of the song was fantastic.

-John Legend Free with Ukrainian artists Suzanna Iglidan and Mika Newtown, along with poet Lyuba Yakimchuk
Suzanna Iglidan played the bandura, a Ukrainian folk instrument
Introduction by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who talked about the impact of music during challenging times.

-Lady Gaga  Love For Sale Do I Love You
The virtual Introduction by Tony Bennet was heartwarming. 
Lady Gaga’s performances of the two songs were lovely and impressive.

-Billy Strings played the guitar nicely into a commercial break and back again after that.

In Memoriam

It started with a touching homage to Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins
Then it led into a lovely In Memoriam with a medley performed by Ben Platt, Cynthia Erica, Leslie Odom Jr, and Rachel Ziglar.

-Jon Baptist Freedom
His performance was colourful and vibrant, with a 70s vibe. He sang remarkably.

-H.E.R. Damage
Her performance had passion and style. She did a fantastic drum solo.

-H.E.R. with Lenny Kravitz, Travis Barker, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis  
Are You Gonna Go My Way? 
After her solo performance, she led into a fantastic performance with Lenny Kravitz, Travis Barker, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis of Kravitz’s hit Are You Gonna Go My Way?

Carrie Underwood Ghost Story
She sang the song for the first time. She performed with elegance and grace.

-Brothers Osborne Dead Man’s Curve
A fantastic combination of Country & Rock! The guitar parts parallel a style similar to Queen.

The Grammys ended with this fantastic performance.
