
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards took place May 23, 2021, hosted by Jonas Brothers’ member Nick Jonas. He did a fantastic job hosting this musical event-he was enthusiastic and engaging with the audience and viewers at home.

-Opening act: H.E.R., DJ Khaled, and Migos performed their single We Going Crazy.
-Doja Cat featuring SZA performed Kiss Me More.

-Ann Nesby and Sounds of Blackness perform their iconic song Optimistic with hope, grace and heart.
It took place at Prince’s Paisley Park. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis honour the city of Minneapolis as the place for change both musically and socially.
-Karol G gave an impressive debut performance with two of her singles

-The South Korean Pop group BTS performs their latest single Butter from Seoul, South Korea.
It was catchy, rhythmic, and has an impressive new sound.
-Bad Bunny performed his latest single, Te Deseo Lo Mejor (I wish you luck), with a bold sound.
-Glass Animals gave an incredible debut performance with their single Heat Wave.
The song had a fresh new and bold sound. I look forward to hearing more music from them.
– The Weeknd gave an excellent performance of his single Save Your Tears with cars (classic models) and trucks. He even sang in a car before getting off one. The cars and trucks turned around him while he sang. It was spectacular to watch.
-Duran Duran gave a legendary and epic performance of two classic songs along with a new single. I admit I even got up and danced because I enjoy their music.

– The Jonas Brothers performed their new single Leave Before You Love Me featuring Marshmello.

Jon Bon Jovi introduced the artist, and then there was a lovely montage about Pink’s career.
Side Note: Pink showed a good sense of humour about her childhood crush on Jon Bon Jovi. She was humble and gracious in her speech. It’s lovely to hear about their friendship, dating back many years.

-Top 200 Billboard Album: Pop Smoke – Shoot for the Stars – Aim For the Moon
On behalf of Pop Smoke, the late artist’s mother accepted the award and paid a beautiful tribute to her son. May Pop Smoke rest in peace.

Once again, congratulations to all the winners of the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Nick Jonas was fantastic as the host. Seeing an audience at this musical event gave me hope that normalcy is coming soon. Great work to the team working at the Billboard Music Awards for following the COVID guidelines and protocols.
