Single Saturdays: Chris Mann – Quarantine Baby

Chris Mann has released a brand-new single entitled Quarantine Baby. The song is about a father living with two children, the second born during Quarantine and faces challenges in this new situation. The tune is a parody of Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar

The music is Pop. The song follows the structure of the original version. The beat is catchy and reminds me of the classic Brit Pop, just like Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar, with an old-school twistAlso, the tune has the following instruments: the trumpet, guitar and horns. The composition is impressive and wavy. The waviness of the music reflects the ups and downs of parenting, with a distinctive beat.

Chris Mann’s voice is fantastic. His vocal style also follows the original song, but with his personal touch to it through his humour. He expresses the sentiment of many parents (especially new parents) in his singing about the struggles and challenges of raising a family.

The lyrics are humorous, providing some much-needed comic relief during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The song follows the lyrical structure of Watermelon Sugar impressively. There may be feelings of doubt, but it ends on a hopeful note, reassuring parents out there. The lyrics are well-written and easy to follow.

The single Quarantine Baby is available.
