Patrick Norman’s Latest Album Si On Y Allait

Canadian and Québecois singer Patrick Norman has a new album entitled  Si On Y Allait (If We Go). The themes are love, heartache, and personal stories.

The music is French Pop mixed with some Country. The overall vibe of the album is romantic and cultural. The guitar is present along with the drums and the piano. The compositions are fantastic, with a natural flow to them.

Patrick Norman’s voice soft, deep and rich in emotions. One can hear the experience in his singing. He has two beautiful duets with his wife, Nathalie Lord.

The lyrics have an excellent variety in the subject matter. Some songs tell personal stories, while others are romantic and poetic. The Quebec culture is nicely present in the story-telling songs as it’s the case with La Gibson de Mon Père (My father’s Gibson/Guitare) and La Guitare de Jérémie (Jeremie’s Guitar). The album has songs in French and English. The four tunes in English are ForeverSay You’ll Stay, and You Fill All My Dreams, giving the record a dynamic dimension to it. The words have a sweet quality to them that is expressive and lovely.

My favourite songs are Quand On est en Amour (When we are in love), You Fill All My Dreams, Forever (featuring Nathalie Lord), and Mon Coeur est à Toi (My heart belongs to you).

The album Si On Y Allait is available.
