Single Saturdays: Ragheb Alama – Kan Gheyrak Ashtar

Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama has a new single out entitled Kan Gheyrak Ashtar (Someone else was more clever than you)*. It’s a love song.

The music is Arabic pop combined with Tarab. It’s an upbeat song that reminds of weddings or a small gathering with loved ones singing classics. The instruments are the conventional instruments in this type of tune, such as the darbakeh. The sound parallels to songs like Wadana Wadana and Mabrook (Congratulations). The composition is phenomenal.

Ragheb Alama’s voice is magnificent. He has a great deal of depth in his singing. His vocal style is a mix of modern and classic sounds from his early works from the 80s.

The lyrics are well-written with a romantic charm with words that are rich in poetry and imagination. It’s easy to follow the song. There’s a smooth flow to them. The poetic style of this song is timeless and beautiful.

The single  Kan Gheyrak Ashtar is now available.
