Felix Straumann’s Sting Operation – Woodstock Jazz is a “Jazzy” homage to Woodstock. The Jazz group from Germany has its take on the legendary event. The members of Sting Operation are Devi Reith (vocals), Felix Straumann (sax, composition), Matthias Siegrist (guitar), Peter Leuzinger (bass) and Peter Preibisch (drums).
Devi Reith’s voice is beautiful, soothing and romantic, as well as husky. She follows the rhythm and adapts to the tempo of each song. Devi Reith has an incredible vocal range and style.
Jazz music and Woodstock are a combination I didn’t imagine. Felix Straumann composed the music of the record with excellent sound quality. It reminds me of George Michael’s Kissing a Fool. The band’s instruments are the Saxophone, Guitar, Bass, and Drums. Each musical instruments complements the other perfectly. The music is a mix of the original sound of Woodstock with a contemporary style.
