Day 10: Trisha Yearwood – Christmastime

American singer Trisha Yearwood released a new Christmas album, Christmastime. There’s one original song and 11 covers.

The music is Country and Holiday. The renditions on this album have a lovely new spin on the holiday classics. The original tune, Merry Christmas, Valentine, is also incredible in its musical style.

Merry Christmas, Valentine (a duet with Garth Brooks) is a beautiful blend of Country and Jazz. The guitar adds a romantic, cosy feeling. There’s a Tim McGraw & Faith Hill vibe, reminding me of their various duets.

The album features incredible renditions of holiday classics as ballads, including Christmas Time Is Here and Blue Christmas. There’s a personal touch. Another example that I appreciate profoundly is this version of Years. The musical was similar to the original, but with contemporary musical styles, including a beautiful guitar in the background. On this record, I enjoyed hearing a slow version of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. It has a cosy vibe.

There are also renditions that honour the original version, such as Cool Yule. It reminded me of when Trisha Yearwood performed this on a Christmas special, Christmas in Nashville. The cover of Candy Cane Lane is upbeat, like the original one.

The song Simple Gifts ends this Christmas album on a soft note. The flute, violin and piano in the background give the tune a lovely ambience and create calming energy.

What I find impressive is hearing songs that aren’t associated with Christmas, but quite a few times, artists do beautiful renditions of them. That’s the case with My Favorite Things and Pure Imagination.

The music on this album is beautiful and heartwarming. Trisha Yearwood and the musicians did excellent work with the songs.

Trisha Yearwood’s voice is soft and soulful throughout this album. She sings each song from the heart and with passion. She beautifully adds her personal touch to each Christmas classic.

There’s a sweet duet with the track Merry Christmas, Valentine that Trisha Yearwood performs with her husband, Garth Brooks.

Merry Christmas, Valentine (feat. Garth Brooks) is a romantic song full of true love and hope. It’s a lovely co-written and performed with her husband, Garth Brooks. It beautifully describes the profound love between Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks. The lyrics are from the heart. The attention to detail is impressive, including the heart-shaped wreath and chocolates spelling out the words “Be Mine.” It’s a heartfelt, personal tune full of love, joy, and hope. The last two lines, “Merry Christmas, Valentine. Merry Christmas, baby,” add a nice, romantic touch to the song.

The album Christmastime is available.
