Day 7: Morgan Wade – Christmas in My Dreams

American singer Morgan Wade released a new Christmas EP, Christmas in My Dreams. There’s one original song and three renditions of Christmas classics.

The music is Country and Holiday. There are four fantastic songs on this EP, including an original piece. The compositions are incredible.

Christmas in My Dreams is a lovely ballad with semi-fast moments, creating a nice, wavy rhythm. It’s a suitable choice to represent mixed emotions after the loss of a loved one. The composition is well-structured to capture both the challenging and happy moments. The guitar in this piece adds a nostalgic and cosy vibe. It reminds me of Dolly Parton’s early work, such as the single “I Will Always Love You” (the original version). The beat is catchy and edgy.  It’s a beautiful song.

The EP also features three beautiful renditions of Christmas classics.
Merry Christmas, Baby opens the album with sleigh bells and bold Country-style guitar. The rhythm is nice and wavy. The musician did an excellent job creating a nostalgic vibe. It also reminds me a bit of John Lennon’s 1969 single Give Peace a Chance.
Same Old Sang Lyne in this EP has fantastic piano playing in the background, along with some guitar. The ballad-style rhythm creates a nostalgic effect. It’s a bittersweet vibe.
All I Want for Christmas Is You on this record is a ballad version of Mariah Carey’s ‘90s Christmas classic. This rendition feels warm and cosy. It ends the EP on a sweet, romantic note.

The music on this EP is beautiful, with a warm, nostalgic feeling.

Morgan Wade’s voice is dynamic. She does a remarkable job singing her original piece Christmas in My Dreams. She also gave excellent performances of popular Christmas songs. It was especially impressive to hear her rendition of Mariah Carey’s Christmas single All I Want for Christmas Is You.

The lyrics to Christmas in My Dreams are profound. It discusses in great detail the challenges of the holiday season, including the sometimes-forgotten aspect: grief. It’s a beautifully written song that’s from the heart. There’s also heartfelt remembering and honouring those who have passed away.

The EP Christmas in My Dreams is available.
