Day 4: Single Saturdays: Skerryvore – Angel of Christmas

Scottish Celtic rock group Skerryvore released a new Christmas single entitled Angel of Christmas. Alec Dalglish did the music and lyrics.

The music is Rock with Rock and Scottish Folk. The guitar in the background parallels Train’s 90s single Drops of Jupiter. Alec Dalglish did an excellent job composing the song. The music is rhythmic  full of joy and cheer. The piano, sleigh bells, harmonica, and violin harmonize to create lovely, elegant music. The beat has a beautiful celebration vibe that nicely honours the Christmas spirit. The tempo changes are incredibly intricate and smooth. There’s a cozy family vibe. It ends with a fade-out Scottish instrument. The music is soulful and rich in spirit.

Alec Dalglish’s voice is rich and husky. He sings this beautiful song from the heart. The joy and love feel sweet and genuine.

The lyrics are heartwarming and sweet. It celebrates the joys of celebrating Christmas with loved ones. The story is full of heart and soul, describing little details such as the choir, the snow covering the grounds, etc. It also honours childhood memories that children have of Christmas and the positive vibes of the holiday season. The words are lyrical. The rhymes in the verses follow the style of AABB, with more than two lines at times, but they are also well-written. The song also has freestyle writing that gives the text a poetic richness and creates a lovely effect of a free-flowing rhythm. The tune is a beautiful, touching piece that offers hope and cheer.

The single Angel of Christmas is available.
