Guylaine Tanguay’s Christmas Country Album- Que Les Fêtes Commencent

French-Canadian singer Guylaine Tanguay has released a Christmas album entitled Que Les Fêtes Commencent (Let the festivities start). It’s a holiday album with a Country twist. There are the Christmas Classics such as Jingle Bell Rock, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Père Noël arrive ce soir), and Silver Bells. There also covers of more recent classics such as All I Want For Christmas is You and Blue Christmas.

The music in this album has an incredible composition. It’s a nice take on the classical Christmas music. My favourite is Guylaine Tanguay’s version of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You. It starts slow, then the tempo increases. The style is Country with classic Christmas beats. The combination of the two is a perfect match.

Guylaine Tanguay’s voice is soft and sound. She sings Country music with style. She sings in both French and English; she even sings in both languages in some of the songs. That’s the case with the songs Sleigh Ride (Promenade en traîneau), Silver Bells and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Père Noël arrive ce soir). I am impressed every time I hear Guylaine Tanguay singing.

There’s an homage to Quebec culture with the three following songs: C’est dans le temps du jour de l’an, La Bastringue, and Pot-pourri musical du jour de l’an. The album honours the classic Christmas songs, the hits from the past ( i.e. Happy Christmas) and Quebec culture.

For those who love Country music and Christmas songs, I recommend this album.

The album Que Les Fêtes Commencent is now availble.
