Throughout June, Queen released compilations featuring remastered or remix/new mix versions of various songs (from their best hits to songs from their albums): Riff, Heavy, and Epic. It was in time for the 55th anniversary of Queen officially forming the band (June 27).
Each album has a well-thought-out compilation of incredible Queen songs.
Riffs
It’s an album that emphasises the guitar, played by Brian May. It’s a remarkable record, where the guitar solos add another incredible layer of music. I imagine the songs on this compilation playing at a Queen concert.
Heavy
In this compilation, it honours the emotional intensity that each song carries, as heard in tunes like Liar and Headlong. It also reminds me of a Rock version of Heavy Metal songs, especially with the piece Sheer Heart Attack.
Epic
What an impressive album! It has a bold theatrical vibe. It honours the poetry of each song heard on this compilation. It was especially exciting to listen to their classic Bohemian Rhapsody. The operatic aspect is phenomenal. The choice of songs is perfect.
I was listening to these compilations. It’s been so much fun listening to Queen’s music with a great spin on their remarkable songs.
Hope you enjoy these compilations.
