During my cruise on the Celebrity Equinox, I discovered a fantastic performer, Drew Pournelle. He performed twice (July 19 & July 23) during that cruise that left from Barcelona. He did two incredible shows honouring classics (from the 50s to the 70s) and Broadway musicals. His voice was fantastic. He sang each song with heart and soul. It was lovely to hear the story of how his career got started and his life story, including his homage to his parents. Drew Pournelle showed a profound authenticity in both shows.

It was so much fun to watch the two shows. I got to speak to Drew Pournelle on the cruise when I ran into him attending one of the evening events. Then we had a lovely chat, the second time around, about 90s music and the oldies from other decades after the fun Queen sing-along (one of the evening activities on the cruise). He was very friendly. We crossed paths quite a few times. I even high-fived him during the second show on that cruise.

Drew Pournelle has remarkable talent. He honours classic songs from various decades. One of my favourite moments is when he performed the tune It’s Not Unusual (Tom Jones) and did the “Carlton Dance,” reminding me of the 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air—a fun moment of nostalgia. I loved hearing those oldies, getting the musical love they deserve.

I look forward to hearing more of his work. I wish Drew Pournelle a successful career.
